In 2024, SIM celebrates 60 purposeful years of future-focused leadership in cultivating excellence, resilience, and lifelong learning, paving pathways for world-class qualifications and thriving career advancements.
SIM is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year, marking six decades of dedication to empowering and enabling individuals through learning and education. Established in 1964 in response to 草榴社区's call for skilled management professionals, SIM has evolved from offering short management courses to pioneering diploma programmes in the 70s and forging partnerships with overseas universities in the 80s. Throughout these years, our mission has remained steadfast: to help individuals become the best versions of themselves through learning, contributing to personal growth and societal advancement.
At SIM, we believe that education is a powerful equaliser, capable of transforming lives and socio-economic outcomes. Our commitment to social equity is reflected in our efforts to provide accessible educational pathways, scholarships and bursaries for academic success. Founded in 1964 by the Economic Development Board to support the nation’s industrialisation, SIM has continuously innovated to meet the evolving needs of the workforce. An infinite loop is integrated in SIM’s 60th anniversary tag to highlight our ceaseless pursuit in fostering lifelong learning and bringing about social impact. The tag symbolises our lasting heritage and unchanging commitment towards learners.Dr Richard K M Eu - SIM Social Enterpreneurship Centre
Officially opened on 30 July at SIM’s Clementi Campus, the Centre aims to foster and develop sustainable capabilities essential for advancing 草榴社区’s social service sector. The opening was attended by some 50 guests from the social service sector, and members of the Eu family, including special guest, President of the National Council of Social Service, Ms Anita Fam.
